Semi-Annual Reviews, Raises, and bonuses

Here at Sparklean, we believe in rewarding excellence, as well as giving ample opportunities for people to earn raises based on their performance. In order to do this, the management team reviews each employee on a semi-annual basis every six months from their date of hire. We do this by sending a performance review form to 3 other employees that you’ve worked with in the last 6 weeks coming up to your review, as well as having you fill out a performance review for yourself.

The management team will determine if you have earned a 3% or a 6% raise. If they determine that you have not earned a raise at all, then a performance improvement plan or termination may be discussed.

If you work an average of 3 or more days a week, then you will also receive a longevity bonus alongside your review that is a percentage of all the wages you’ve earned during that review period. The percentage is based off of your total years of service. So, for someone who has been with the company for 6 months, the percentage of their total earned wages that they will receive as a bonus is 0.5%. For someone who has been with the company for a year, it’s 1%, for 1.5 years it’s 1.5%, for two years it’s 2%, etc. For example, if you earned $15,000 in your first 6 months, then your 1/2 year bonus would equal $75 (15,000*0.005).

How exactly does this work? What is the process and timeframe?

Let’s say - hypothetically - that you started at Sparklean on July 20th of 2022. In December of 2022, the Coaching Manager would start to prepare for your 6-month review which is due on January 20th, 2023. They would send out a Google Form to 3 of the people you’ve worked with in the last 6 weeks, avoiding newly hired people. They would also send a copy of the form to you, for you to complete about yourself. The Manager will take all comments from your peers and use them to guide you to success. Then, after they have gathered comments from the other managers and reviewed your scorecard for anything that may need to be addressed, you will be contacted to schedule a time for your review within the same week of your 1/2 anniversary/anniversary if possible (in this hypothetical case, that would be January 20th, 2023).
